Preston took his last breath and went to Heaven on May 19, 2012.
We love you Preston. You're the best!
December 1, 2011 we found out that Preston's leukemia had returned.
Preston's AML relapsed and it was confirmed on February 8, 2011. Preston's only chance for survival is to receive a bone marrow transplant. He is so blessed to find a perfect match, a 24 year old girl from Germany. He received his bone marrow transplant on June 1, 2011.
On January 14th at 4pm, we took Preston in for some blood work to check his clotting before his visit to the ENT. Preston had been having bloody noses occassionally over the past few months and the plan was we were going to have his nose cauterized. At 8:45pm that night, James was putting the kids to bed while I was watching some tv and resting when we received a phone call from the Doctor's office that we needed to take Preston into the ER right away because his platelet's were low (13). After some panic and packing up the kids, we went to the ER where they did more blood work and he was admitted that night into Texas Children's Hospital. The next morning, January 15th, around 7 in the morning, a Doctor came in to tell me that Preston had leukemia. That day, he had a bone marrow aspiration and later that night, Preston was diagnosed with (AML) Leukemia.
Preston is 2 years old, has a 4 year old sister, Abigail, and has a brand new sister, Stephanie, who was born in February.
He loves cars, trains, Justice League, playing on his scooter, and playing with his big sister, Abby.
